The mollusk creates a natural pearl when an irritant works its way into an oyster. The mollusk then goes into survival mode and is continually wrapped with a protective layer of ‘nacre’ to protect itself. Layer by layer, the lustrous pearl is formed inside the mollusk.

Like the pearl, people build protective layers when encountering struggles and hurts. We learn to grow around that hurt and turn that struggle into something beautiful.
